Lush Hair Henna { Review }

So during the Christmas holiday, I decided to use Lush’s Caca Rouge hair treatment, which I don’t recommend anyone to try!! & yes, Caca is French for poop…😁 💩
So I read on Lush’s website that this hair mask/dye contains natural plants to condition, repair and slightly dye the hair, and help your hair grow fast.
Reading the reviews, they really didn’t help me decide whether or not I should use the product, so I thought I’d try it anyway, as it was all natural so no harm could surely be done…
Firstly, the day after purchasing the henna, I read the little information leaflet that says to leave it in for 3 hours, but that was no way going to happen, as the smell was just unbearable! I can’t explain what it smelt of but it wasn’t pleasant at all! The leaflet said to ‘melt’ the block of henna using boiling water and continuously stirring, so I did so and added more water as if needed, whilst doing so I managed to completely tip my kitchen up and somehow make the revolting stench lure in my whole house! It was pretty difficult to keep the dye/mask as a paste as it would quickly dry and turn lumpy again, so every few minutes I added in more water and stirred.
The application was also very hard, as it would not ‘stick’ to the hair, and instead just crumbled off my hair and fell. I then decided the best thing to do was whack it all on and quickly wrap it with a bag. 😐 I didn’t use the whole block and I still have about half of it left over (which I don’t think I’ll use.)
Online, most people say to leave it in for 3 hours,  but I honestly just couldn’t sit around doing nothing but waiting, and after 20 minutes the smell was giving me a headache, 😷so I left it in for only an hour, and washed it out using just water.
Washing the dye/mask out of my hair was an absolute nightmare! It literally went everywhere in my bath tub and just wouldn’t come out completely! After rinsing my hair for 20 minutes straight I managed to get most of it out, and the rest I just had to comb out.
Once my hair was completely dry, I did notice it was shinier and looking fuller, but hadn’t changed colour at all. (I kind of knew it wouldn’t as my hair is very dark and I only really wanted it for the nourishment) So it did work, however for me, it also looked greasy, so I did wash it again….
After almost two weeks I honestly don’t notice anything different with my hair; apart from the fact that it still smells of the henna!
I honestly wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, and in my opinion if you are looking to dye your hair then just use the usual high street dye (from your local drugs store) or go to a salon! And if you are looking to nourish your hair then a bottle of coconut oil or argon oil will be much better and much less hassle!
The henna hair dye/mask/bar was £9.25 ($14 and €12.15), which was much dearer than other places I saw selling similar henna products.
